QLD Flood Watch: Pioneer, Proserpine and Don River Catchments

Issue Number: 1

A surface trough located along the Central Queensland Coast is expected to produce enhanced showers and thunderstorms over the warning area through to Friday.

Widespread 24 hour rainfall totals of 150-200 mm are likely with locally heavier falls up to 300 mm possible.

River level rises above the minor flood level are possible.

Heavy rainfall may also lead to localised flash flooding.

Catchments at risk within the Flood Watch area include the Pioneer, Proserpine and Don Rivers.

This Flood Watch means that people living or working along rivers and creeks should monitor the latest weather forecasts and warnings and be ready to move to higher ground should flooding develop.
